Is it finally time to go fishing? I sure hope so, this spring has been something else. I'm still waiting to get the Nitro wet or be out on any boat. Although hopefully we can get a couple birds down in what little time there is this weekend and go fishing. We've gone on a couple mini afternoon hunts but nothing serious so far.

So what has been happening? We just wrapped up show season down at D&R Sports in Kalamazoo. Once again the Humminbird Xplore units were impressive. I just can't believe the speed on them which you can see in the video below.

Minn Kota Quest’s popularity continues to grow. One note I found interesting is what the man himself said (Kevin Van Dam spends a lot of time in our booth at this show). Look at all the guys on the pro tours who choose which trolling motor to run. They've all got an Ultrex Quest on there.

You'll also want to check out the selection of TFO Rods if you make it down there. They had Option Bass, Taction Bass, and resolve Bass. Some really nice TFO walleye trolling rods on mega sale too. Perfect for getting in on the coho and brown action happening right now on Lake Michigan. One rod that you should check out if you are down there is the Option Bass S 734 spinning rod. This is going to be a very versatile rod for a lot of popular techniques in Michigan.

I've gotten some action on the pier at least. Browns, coho, walleyes, and smallies but it just doesn't compare to being on the boat and exploring.

I've been thinking pretty hard lately about pushing this writing thing a bit more. I put a bunch of behind the scenes work into the website recently and we'll see if that pays off. It is interesting to see it again more traction every year. I really appreciate the support with it.

I'd like to start doing some writing again beyond the blog. Outdoor articles or potentially blogs for companies within the industry. Just something a little extra so if anyone happens to be looking for something like that please reach out.

I won't be getting into any of that until this boat finally gets wet though. Let's hope for some fishing by the time the next one rolls out.
